The regular scoring categories are not entirely appropriate for this special review (at least not for the main product, the photo and video content could arguably be scored as usual, though I've chosen not to do that). The numeric overall score above - rather than just a more general "good" - is solely there because it fits better into the scoring system used on this site, and I can avoid messing with category pages and other things.

Pros
+ DeskBabes is a brand new spin-off product of the immensely popular VirtuaGirl HD desktop strippers. It's more explicit (toys/finger penetration and pussy licking) and so far with a much larger percentage of lesbian shows than VGHD (28 out of the currently 43 DeskBabes shows are girl/girl).
For an explanation of how the DeskBabes software works, the site tour page really does a better job at telling and showing the concept than I could do in a few words, so I advice a visit to the DeskBabes site to go alongside reading this review if you find your interest peeked. Otherwise you can also check out my VGHD review for more details.
DeskBabes, as VGHD, also allows you to install and try out the software for free, you will just be limited to the initial non-nude segments of the shows.
As a note to people who have VirtuaGirl HD installed, installing DeskBabes simply replaces, or rather integrates itself into the VGHD software so you have access to all your shows from just the one interface. Initially I had imagined you might need to make a choice which one you would have running, but this way you can freely mix and match from both VGHD and Deskbabes.
Your VGHD account will be carried over to Deskbabes (and show credits shared between the two) so you won't need to create a new one. And I assume this will work the other way around as well if you're starting out with Deskbabes and later want to give VGHD a try.
+ Since DeskBabes has only just been launched, the number of strip shows is still fairly limited, currently 43 as mentioned (compared to the whopping 660+ for VGHD), but the shows I've seen so far (each clocking in at a total length of 35-50+ minutes, split into around 30 show segments) have been pretty great.
And for me at least certainly even more so because they include three shows featuring my favourite lesbian babe, Jo (who just won the Viv Thomas Babe of the Year award for the second time a month or two ago, plus best scene together with Eve Angel. Jo goes by the name Monica Sweet in DB and VGHD).
Among a bunch of pretty girls I'm only sparingly, or in some cases not at all familiar with, there are a few other familiar faces, most notably the gorgeous Eufrat (who, going by the show ratings, is obviously very popular with fans here at DeskBabes just as she is at VGHD), Ariel Piperfawn and Milli Jay, plus a couple of reasonably new British models who have been gaining popularity on other sites, Natalia Forrest (who makes for an excellent pairing with Jo in their DB show) and Sasha Cane (under the name Sarah here).
+ Most of the shows have sound. That might not exactly seem like an earth-shattering announcement, given that this is 2010 and not 1920, but I don't recall any of the VGHD shows I've seen having sound (might have been added to recent shows, it's been a while since I last bought a new one), nor did I ever really feel I missed it, given that these show clips are supposed to be relatively unintrusive, short breaks from your computer work.
With the more explicit solo and lesbian sex on offer from DeskBabes, being able to hear the girls does make a lot of sense here though. And obviously you can still disable sound if you prefer that.
+ A strong web site to go with the (also very well designed) software. Both in terms of design and navigation, as well as the bonus photo and video content available for each software based show.
Community features like forums and member profiles are also carried over from the VirtuaGirl HD site design.
Cons
- As mentioned above, the number of shows is still pretty limited given the recent release of DeskBabes. This should hopefully improve soon enough though, with currently one or two new shows released a week. And as also mentioned, each one is pretty long, so at this time there's already around 25+ hours worth of desktop sex shows to enjoy.
- There's no membership option at the time of writing (a VGHD membership gives you all new shows added from the day you sign up), probably because of said currently limited number of Desk Babes shows, and because updates aren't looking to become quite as frequent as for VirtuaGirl HD.
This means purchasing credits you can use to buy individual shows is the only option, and they are a bit pricy. Some might even say very pricy, and certainly so if you attempt to compare Desk Babes to conventional lesbian or masturbation sites.
It isn't one of those though, Desk Babes and VGHD remain unique "desktop stripper" products (though with the lesbian shows on DB in particular, admittedly with some fairly heavy crossover into full on porn) and if you like the concept you might find one or both worth the price. I know I do, at least as long as I buy a show or two here and there, and don't feel the urge to buy all the available shows at once, which would indeed come with a fairly substantial price tag.
