Update, August 11 2008
I was apparantly a bit hasty below in my conclusions about the site interface update. Aside from the radical color change (and the old color scheme is actually still available as an optional skin, or "mood"), there have in fact been some feature improvements - most notably a much improved image viewer, but also behind the scenes improvements to overall site speed and usability.
Considering I've done the same in a couple of other recent reviews, it might also be fair to point out that MC Nudes appears to be have been among the first adult sites to offer 720p HD videos, starting already in mid 2005.
2nd look, August 2 2008
13 months has passed since my original review of MC Nudes, and given the well deserved high score I gave the site, it's probably about time for an update.
The first thing that immediately caught my eye upon returning to MC Nudes was the rather obvious color change from a light color scheme to a striking and pretty unusual dark one. Despite what I've been told, that seems to be mostly a visual thing though, as not much if anything appears to have changed in terms of actual site layout (which is also why I'm too lazy to replace the old screenshots below) - but it was close to perfect already, so that's hardly a problem.
I didn't really feel any other areas of the site or concept was due for an overhaul either - and not surprisingly they haven't received one. What you'll get at MC Nudes is still a lineup of beautiful babes (now 200 of them) in stunning softcore (very) high resolution photos with a distinct artistic touch, and short 720p HD videos continuing that style.
So overall MC Nudes is still an incredible site for those who appreciate artistic nudes (don't worry, as mentioned in my original text there's still plenty of naked tits and pussy - and girls posing together in "lesbian poses" - just no actual solo or girl/girl sex), while those looking for actual porn should stay clear.
Pros & Highlights
+ I think I may have mentioned this in a few other reviews, but here we go again. Back when I started this review site in December 2005 I really hadn't bothered spending much time with any kind of photo content on any kind of site for quite a while. It was all about the movies.
That still applies when we're talking about hardcore guy/girl porn (I just want the action thank you, not appreciate the finer artistic details of a double anal pose), but the last year I've really started to enjoy professionally shot, high quality solo girl and lesbian photosets.
And the first of those in particular is probably the main attraction at MC Nudes, even if their videos are certainly well worth watching too (and you also get a few girl/girl sets)
+ 147 girls (pretty much all of them unknown to me, with a few exceptions like Nella, Anetta Keys and Monika Vesela) in some of the most stunningly beautiful softcore photosets I've ever seen. No penetration, no masturbation, but damn these ladies are sexy, and this is probably one of the first times I've genuinely enjoyed a (completely) softcore site (well, Only Tease did the job too, although that was mainly thanks to the clothing fetish theme rather than the sheer beauty of the models and the photography)
+ MC Nudes is quite a large site, as the number of girls above should indicate. I didn't count the exact number of photosets (daily updates now, but not in the early days of the site), but the total number of individual photos is currently listed as 33,948.
In addition to this neat collection you also get 223 videos which, as you would expect, use the same softcore style as the photo content, no actual sex or masturbation but plenty of teasing and gorgeous naked babes
+ Exceptional technical quality. Photos are available in three resolutions, the largest a huge 2667x4000 pixels ("only" 2000x3000 on the oldest sets from 2004/05), and they can obviously be downloaded in zip files just as there's a fancy Flash based viewer and slideshow feature I can't quite decide if I think is perhaps a tad too fancy. In any case, it works.
And just as I'm writing this I notice that in the latest photosets from this week, the 4000 px resolution has been boosted to 3320x5000. That's... well, big.
Most of the videos are available in four different versions, the highest full HD quality at 1280x720, 4800+ kbit. A quality that really does these ladies full justice
+ A new photoset every day and two videos a week
+ Great looking site design and all the features you would expect from a site of this quality, model index, multiple search features, personal favourites, voting system etc.
Cons
- Ehh... Give me a second here. Oh, yes, if naked babes in beautiful surroundings but no actual action doesn't quite do it for you, MC Nudes is obviously not the right choice. But I guess that's not really as much a con as a slight disclaimer or warning. And of course when I say "softcore" I don't mean they actually keep their bra and panties on, there's plenty of naked pussy at MC Nudes, including some fine clean shaven ones
