The regular scoring categories are not entirely appropriate for this special review (at least not for the main product, the photo and video content could arguably be scored as usual, though I've chosen not to do that). The numeric overall score above - rather than just a more general "very good" - is solely there because it fits better into the scoring system used on this site, and I can avoid messing with category pages and other things.

The old VirtuaGirl 2 software has been replaced by VirtuaGirl HD.
This new version features vastly improved video quality, suitable for modern high resolution monitors, an already sizeable collection of 20-30 minute strip shows and a new, also completely redesigned, excellent accompanying website where you can not only search through the strip shows, download bonus high resolution photosets and video interviews and behind the scenes stuff, but also - if you're into that sort of thing - interact with the large VirtuaGirl member community through fairly extensive community website features like comments, blogs, member profiles etc.
Whether you're really just in it for the naked stripping babes (much like yours truly) or care about all the extras as well, VirtuaGirl HD is a major improvement over the popular but technically outdated VirtuaGirl 2.

VirtuaGirl HD is still growing steadily and the number of shows is now up to over 660, with most of them new ones now weighing in at 40+ minutes.

Update, November 2 2009
VirtuaGirl HD is still adding new content at a steady if now slightly slower pace than during its first year. The total amount of strip packs is now up to 553 at the time of writing - quite a collection to say the least - and while counting the exact number of models is becoming an increasingly bothersome task (although models are obviously listed by name and there are easy links to see all shows from a model, there's no centralized model index), I would imagine it's probably up to around a hundred or more by now (I verified 80+ a year ago).
Other things worth noting include the strip packs now regularly containing a fair bit more than the 20-30 minutes that used to be typical. There now seems to be relatively few that weigh in at less than 35 minutes, and 40-45 minutes isn't entirely unusual.
The VGHD software itself has been updated several times, and in fact it currently looks quite different from how I remember it (it's the first time I'm installing it on my current PC which I bought earlier this year).
From what I remember of the previous versions, improvements in this latest one range from an improved interface over additional options and settings to a brand new screensaver feature (or at least I'm almost certain it wasn't there a year ago). The latter looks pretty nifty in action with the girls stripping on different backgrounds you can choose from, including a couple of strip clubs (quite appropriate), an outer space setting and, for proper customization, photo backgrounds where you can choose from a playlist of some nice looking presets or add your own.
So overall VirtuaGirl HD continues to improve beyond merely adding new content.
Update, November 12 2008
New strip packs for VirtuaGirl HD have been released on a steady and frequent basis and the total number at the time of writing is now 400, up from 175 when I did my first review update in January.
The number of models has gone up as well as you would expect, from around 45 beautiful girls back then to over 80 now, some featured in only one or two strip packs but many of the most popular girls in several more.
I can't remember if I mentioned it below in my original review, but the model line up - based on the names I recognize, or in some cases just the look of the girls - appears to consist mainly of East European girls, which I obviously think is generally just great considering how much I love those gorgeous Hungarian and Czech babes.
I believe I already mentioned Nella and Jo below as a couple of my favourite girls who each have over five strip shows for VirtuaGirl HD, but and more recent names that should probably ring a bell with Eurobabe fans include Zafira, Eufrat, Ariel Piperfawn and Sharka Blue. And from a non-Euro girl but still very much a babe, comes two very recent strip shows with my personal and long time favourite glamour model, the gorgeous Aria Giovanni, including a Halloween special where the busty lady is dressed up as a rather sexy witch.
Update, January 3 2008
Just a couple of quick notes. First, VirtuaGirl HD is no longer in beta testing (the software was showing "Version 0.50 beta" when I wrote my review), but has been officially launched (version 1.0 was released on December 21) and has now entirely replaced the old VirtuaGirl 2 software and website.
And second, a comment - or rather a correction - to something I wrote in my original review.

They have in fact been releasing a new full pack every day - with no cycling. This means the total number of strip packs (or "shows" if I have to stick to the correct terminology) is now already up to 175, performed by around 45 girls.
Original Review
I started this off as a major update to my original review of VirtuaGirl 2 from December last year, but considering how much has changed and how much I (as usual) ended up writing, I decided to scrap the old review entirely and just dedicate this one solely to the brand new and much improved VirtuaGirl HD.
VirtuaGirl 2 will soon be outphased anyway and all traffic to the old site and software redirected to the new one (and obviously all links on this review page goes straight to VirtuaGirl HD).
VirtuaGirl HD is still officially labelled as being in beta testing, but it very much looks like it's fully functional (though perhaps further improvements and features are to come) and the content updates are coming regularly and quickly.
Well, let's get started - and since I've decided to write this as a new review I better begin with a brief introduction.
VirtuaGirl HD is a program that runs in the background (and minimizes discretely to the Windows systemtray) and at intervals you've chosen in the options menus, pops up a medium sized video of a stripping girl in the bottom left, right or middle of the screen (all customizable as well, along with the option of a "full" mode that roughly doubles the size of the video image).
The stripping babes are filmed on bluescreen (as you can also see in some of the bonus videos, regular videos, on the website), so everything around them is entirely transparant, meaning calling these strip shows "videos" is a tad misleading.
A picture is supposedly worth a thousand words, so if you're not entirely sure what the hell I'm talking about, take a look at these screenshots, or head over to the VirtuaGirl HD website where you can see a preview video - and download the software to try it out yourself.
Aside from the obvious major technical quality improvements to the animations/videos of the stripping girls themselves (now referred to as shows, I think I called them animation packs in my original VG2 review), making sure they look great on modern high resolution monitors, unlike the old VirtuaGirl 2 that really didn't anymore, the options and info panels of the VirtuaGirl software have been completely redesigned, and the same goes for the new website which is now no longer just the place you visit to download new shows (they actually auto download from the software now, though there's a bit more to it as I'll explain a little further down) and the accompanying photosets and bonus videos, but it's also been turned into a surprisingly comprehensive community site where Virtua Girl HD members/users can chat with each other, post comments on the girls or even their own fan art, and - if you choose to do so - add as much or as little personal information about yourself as you like, to enhance the whole community aspect and let the world (a fraction of it anyway) know who you are, or pretend to be.
Not something I personally have much interest in, but in this YouTube age I take it many do.
Fortunately it's entirely up to you whether you will make use of that part of Virtua Girl HD, so let's move on to the actual software and the gorgeous stripping babes on your desktop instead, shall we?
Out is all the old content from the old Virtua Girl 2 - as mentioned the quality was simply not high enough to be compatible with the new software (though I don't know if they might decide to carry over some of all the old photosets as a bonus section, no point in throwing those out afterall).
Despite being brand new there's nevertheless already a rather sizeable collection of strip shows available for VirtuaGirl HD - 147 as of today in fact (including four two-girl shows, let's hope we'll get more of those), performed by around 40 beautiful babes (which includes several shows with a couple of my own favourite babes, Nella and Monica Sweet - or Jo as she's also called on some other sites), and each show contains typically between 20 and 30 minutes of video/animation or whatever you want to call it, split into segments lasting from a brief 20-30 seconds for some of the non-nude teaser parts, up to a couple of minutes of very sexy and very explicit stripping.
A new strip pack is released every single day, and that obviously means the number of featured girls will grow as well (though it looks like they might be cycling through some of the current 147 shows for their daily updates before they start adding more - more about the related membership and credit system below).
If you've only installed the software and signed up for a basic registration you only get short free daily teaser trailers - just as with VirtuaGirl 2.
If that isn't quite enough for you (I'm guessing not), you have the option of either purchasing set numbers of "credits" that will allow you to select and download full individual shows, or you can buy a membership which will make the Virtua Girl HD software auto download the full daily pre-scheduled shows rather than just the non-nude teasers.
Additionally you get a few bonus credits you can use if you're still interested in getting hold of some of the older shows - and you can obviously still buy and use more while you have a membership.
VirtuaGirl HD is an excellent product, and this was indeed a much needed update to the old version which just wasn't looking great at all anymore on modern high resolution monitors.
I've been running VGHD on a 1680x1050 monitor, and it looks fantastic - and though I'm through with this review now, the software is definately staying on my harddisk and in my systemtray. If the naked chicks end up hampering my productivity a bit too much at times, temporarily disactivating VirtuaGirl HD is as simple as double clicking the systemtray icon.
