There are a few other sites out there with enough downloadable DVD content to nearly match the two giants, VideoBox and VideosZ.
Adult Movie Club is one of them (and one I wasn't actually aware of until a couple of weeks ago) with more than 900 downloadable DVDs, amazing quality (720x480 - full DVD resolution, 1100 kbit) and two new DVDs every day.
While that all makes Adult Movie Club a pretty damn amazing site, there's the usual problem here. With DVD content very similar (or in many cases exactly the same) to the two aforementioned sites, direct comparison is unavoidable, and while Adult Movie Club is pretty much a match for VideosZ (the former has slightly fewer DVDs - but speedier updates, slightly better quality and both sites use DRM protection and charge $29.95 per month), VideoBox with its recent improvements, no DRM and especially the incredibly low membership price is pretty much impossible to beat or even stand up to.
If you're looking for something specific and not "just" a ton of hardcore video porn, do yourself a favor and check out all three though. You will find variations in the content they offer - maybe enough to pick one of the other two sites over VideoBox. (Read the pros and cons below)

Adult Movie Club recently received several improvements, making an already great site even better.
First of all they have now stripped all movies of DRM (Digital Rights Management) - during my last update, which was admittedly quite a while ago, it was still implemented in most of the content on the site. That's no longer the case.
Second, the site interface has gotten an overhaul, making navigation easier - not that it was anywhere near half bad during my original visits (although my expectations on the other hand might also have been a tad lower). I do find myself sorely missing one thing though - with far too many scenes they don't show the name of the girl, just a "not available". That's a bit too lazy, and something I'm sure many members might find themselves missing on many occasions.
Further improvements are additional video formats (and higher bitrate on the best quality download option), including Flash for streaming and several for portable players, iPod, iPhone, PSP and Zune, plus an immediately obvious change, content volume.
The total number of DVDs is now a very impressive 1959, up from... ehh... damn, apparantly I didn't see fit to write that anywhere in my original review, and the previous info box number above was also fairly recent. Well, the number is - obviously - much higher than it was back in 2006, and growing faster than ever now with three new DVD updates every day, rather than the previous two.
Overall Adult Movie Club is still a really great site, better than ever, but - there's always that but with these DVD download sites - it's obviously up against several other equally great and very similar direct competitors, that in most cases have also gotten better over time (in a few cases a lot better).
Plus there's that one none of them can really compete with in just about any area - volume, price (a few are a match on price, though not Adult Movie Club), interface, video quality (some, including Adult Movie Club, are actually getting very close here as well). Yep, I'm obviously once again talking about VideoBox.
Sorry DVD site owners, but as great as your sites usually are on their own merits, you'll have to do much better to make me seriously want to consider recommending anything besides VideoBox - or you could try to do something substantially different, like the one studio sites ZTOD and Third Movies.
Yes, Adult Movie Club and several others do have DVDs, DVD series and typically a few studios you won't find on any of the competing DVD sites (yet anyway), so if you're looking for something very specific it certainly is worth taking the time to go through the archives of the various sites before making a decision, but I imagine when most of us join a hardcore site with this much content, it's usually a volume and variety thing, rather than because we're looking for that one specific movie with our favourite pornstar. Although that could certainly be a compelling reason in some cases, for some people.
Oh, and one more thing - gay DVD covers occasionally showing up on the front page of the site with the rest of the new releases? Seriously?! The occasional shemale DVDs they throw in among the rest over at VideoBox are bad enough (as quite a few members usually don't hesitate to point out in their comments section), but I think this might just be pushing it a bit too far with the instant turnoff content for us typical, straight, slightly homophobic men.
Some types of porn should probably just sit discretely in their own category sections, and only there - if they have to be featured on the site at all (and I certainly do accept that these huge DVD sites try to cater to a fairly large variety of tastes).
Update, August 16 2006
I've been logging in several times in the month since I did the review, and it would appear as though Adult Movie Club is no longer DRM protecting new additions to the DVD archives (still two new DVDs a day).
Since it's been the case for all the scenes I've downloaded in the last three or four weeks, it certainly looks like this isn't just a case of a minor accident during video encoding, and if they have indeed skipped DRM entirely now, it places Adult Movie Club in an even stronger position against especially VideosZ.
Pros
+ A huge collection of downloadable hardcore DVD porn from many different porn studios
+ While you'll find a lot of shared content between these DVD mega sites, Adult Movie Club appears to have quite a lot of movies/movie series that I haven't seen at the other sites. Many of them just the kind I like
+ Two new full DVDs added every day
+ Three different video qualities, all look great, especially the highest at 720x480 (actual DVD resolution) and a pretty high 1100 kbit bitrate (could have used an extra 500-1000 kbit to match the high resolution, but it's still way better than what you get on most other sites)
+ Attractive and functional site design. Easy to navigate, and drop down menus allow you to search by category (no less than 70+) for either full DVDs or scenes, and there's a drop down menu with a huge list of pornstars as well.
No freeform text search, but I think you're pretty much covered with the menus (check the cons below though)
Cons
- Movie indexing is a bit flawed here and there, like some movies listed without any pornstar names attached (even if they feature some pretty prominent girls) so you can't always trust the search/menu system entirely and might only get one or two movies listed for a particular girl, even if some random searching around eventually leads you to several more
- DRM protection. There are perfectly valid reasons for using it (preventing piracy being one of them), but when so few other sites do at this time, it might make it harder to compete with similar sites that allow members to keep playing the videos even after they have cancelled their memberships.
One of the big direct competitors to Adult Movie Club, VideosZ, is in fact one of the only two or three other sites I've reviewed so far that are using DRM, but VideoBox (currently the toughest competitor with their recent improvements) is not
- No viable options for dialup users, all three qualities use the same high resolution, only the bitrate varies from 700 over 900 to 1100. On the other hand, I can't really imagine any remotely video heavy site being anything but an exercise in patience for those still on dialup. Just downloading a small 50 Mb movie would take what? Nearly three hours?
- Yep, I think we've established it alright. I do find it a bit hard to really recommend these "other" DVD mega sites (unless one comes around that can actually beat or completely match the best), however excellent they may be if you view them isolated (and this one really is great).
Since Adult Movie Club really has a lot of DVDs you currently won't find at the other sites (even if after the 50th anal DVD or so they do tend to start blending together a bit), you do owe it to yourself to at least browse through the archives (fully open to visitors) before you make a final decision
