This review is a bit out of the ordinary (and a tad long to boot, scroll down to the bottom if you want some screenshots rather than just large blocks of text), and so is the product at hand, which is also why the contents of the info box on the left is a bit different from the usual photo/video stuff.
3D Sex Villa is a virtual sex game or simulator, placing computer generated "people" with very lifelike body language and responses (but still looking distinctly artificial, we'll probably have to wait another 5-10 for realism in this area) in 3D enviroments where you can interact with them and make them interact (alright, let's just go ahead and translate that interact thing to "fuck") with each other through a number of different sex toys, and preset poses/positions.
Aside from the large assortment of toys and sexual positions, there's also ample opportunity to dress up the virtual ladies in a bunch of sexy outfits, as well as modify or "enhance" various parts of their anatomy.
3D Sex Villa is a very impressive and (at least intially) an entertaining and interesting piece of software, and it's been updated many times with new content, new features, graphical improvement and improvements to character behaviour/response/body language.
While the entertainment value may wear thin after a while, it's at least an interesting look at what the not too distant future might hold in the area of virtual sex entertaiment.

3D Sex Villa might have started out as merely a simple game with limited choices and possibilities, but for each new update added to 3D Sex Villa 2, it not only gets additional regular content in the form of new locations, clothing, characters, character modifications (yes, you can have virtual sex with a blue elf girl now if you like, or two, and that's just one random example), sex positions etc., but is - combined with the very active community site Gamerotica (direct link) - becoming a pretty phenomenal tool for creative would be "porn producers".
Increasingly more varied and advanced scene, character and object manipulation and video recording tools have been added to 3D Sex Villa 2, and members now have a pretty staggering amount of control over the software - far more than I've dared play around with more than tentatively myself.
You can safely choose to ignore all the advanced features and just enjoy the game with it's predefined features (or download and use other member creations from Gamerotica), but for those who want it, you're free to dive into stuff like custom clothing textures, manual editing and keyframe animation of character poses, freely moving characters around within locations, taking full control of the cameras, record and share videos in several different video formats.
And I'm just listing a few main highlights here, I believe I've already talked about the scene sequencer and a few other advanced tools in previous review updates - I strongly recommend you check out the news section on the main site tour pages for more detailed explanations and preview pics.
I'm going to end this review update with a quote from a very long, recent post on the Gamerotica forum from one of the 3D Sex Villa/Gamerotica staff members, as this along with the rest of the post indicate that they have a lot of long term plans and upcoming changes and improvements.
"... We are a bit behind after the Christmas and New Years break… I can’t say we have any good excuses other than the Ver 2.0 product has grown quite complex and is getting harder and harder to update without breaking or introducing new bugs. We are trying to address some of ours and yours upgrade challenges as we speak.
We are thus working on a lot of low level ‘housekeeping stuff’, boring but essential, and stuff that really needs to be done to allow us to get back on schedule for regular updates like we achieved in most of 2009. The 3D Sex Villa 2 team keeps releasing impressive software updates, just as they promised they would in their Christmas/New Year notice (see the December 28 note at the bottom of the December 19 review update below).
The two latest updates in particular are improving on the underlying technology rather than merely adding new locations, outfits etc.
Highlights include an interactive storytelling system and an improved scene sequencer (as a note I never actually got around to trying out the sequencer before my last membership ran out, but with all the new things they've added, I suspect I'll be renewing my subscription again very soon to check a lot of it out), skin and clothing texture modding (for the really creative users), green screen filming and lighting controls (I imagine this might be intended to be used with the sequencer), sweaty/wet skin, female body hair (I think I'll pass on that one, but more fetish options are always great of course), cum "layers" (cum stains on not just skin but also clothing), shemales/T-girls (apparently a much requested option), femdom, nipple fetish (ehh... okay?) plus assorted new sex positions.
The two previous 3D Sex Villa 2 in 2009 were mainly the usual content updates, which included things like a bathroom location (complete with glory hole sex) and bride, nun and monsignor outfits.
A community site - Gamerotica (direct link) - was also launched earlier this year, where you can, among other things, share your custom models, sequences, movies, textures etc., and of course download what other people have shared. And since the community appears to be pretty active, there's quite a lot to download (more than 1,500 models at this time for instance).
You certainly can't accuse these developers of being lazy.

I've been sitting on this review update for about a week, waiting to see if a Christmas themed content update might arrive - not an entirely far fetched expectation since they had a Halloween update two months ago.
No Christmas update so far though, but even if none arrives, 3D Sex Villa 2 is still a lot more content and feature packed than it was at launch in the Fall last year.
I wrote briefly about some of these additions in my April update below, and now that I have a (fairly) reliable computer again, I've actually had the chance to try out those things - plus more recent content additions - rather than merely quoting the update notes on the 3D Sex Villa 2 website.
There's now a total of no less than 20 different locations where you can host your virtual sexcapades in 3D Sex Villa 2. Locations added since the original game launch include, among others, a racing garage, a space station (with a couple of zero gravity poses), a bondage room ("The Dome of Pain"), a model cat walk + backstage room, a bathroom, a pool area, ancient ruins and a park.
As I probably mentioned in my original review text, content updates also contain outfits and often toys and poses to match any new location they may include, so you'll find everything from stewardess... sorry, flight attendant uniforms, stockings and pantyhose, leather straps and latex gear (including a full latex body suit and various corsets), to sexy racing outfits and police uniforms, shiny pink and silver sci-fi outfits and a full Lara Croft Tomb Raider outfit, oh and not to forget the Halloween themed outfits which include betwitching things like... well, a witch, and a sexy devil girl complete with small red horns and everything.
And with 20 locations I'm obviously leaving a lot out here.
Some of the clothing comes in both male and female variants (as usual I've been going mostly for girl on girl action though), and not surprisingly the latter tend to be of the very skimpy kind, with eg. the lower parts of the police uniform and racing outfit consisting of an ultra short skirt or hotpants.
A number of new characters - both female and male - have also been added to 3D Sex Villa 2, including a few more ethnicities plus goth and punk characters. But obviously the vast number of detail face and body customization options mean that you could already create an almost endless number of different characters.
Furthermore new makeup types, tattoos, jewelery. piercings etc. allow you to really go nuts with the details if that's your thing.
I mentioned new voice sets back in April, and it was certainly nice to get a few more of those. Still, I was a bit disappointed to see that that still only adds up to three female voice sets (and, I think, one for male characters, but that's probably less important). It beats the original one, but surely it can't be that costly to pay a few more women to record some brief lines. Well, at least the new British chick voice set is pretty sexy - but I really hope additional voice sets are coming next year.
Threesomes is one of the other additions that's pretty cool (you always select three characters now when you start a scene, but it's entirely up to you if you'll use the "3some partner", just as you've always been able to even skip using two and just use stand alone toys on a single character), although it does seem like there's a rather limited number of poses. Unless I missed it there was no double penetration for instance, which seems like it should have been an obvious inclusion.
The good thing is that all poses still work even if you go for an all girl threesome - two of them will just be wearing strapons.

Overall though it should be obvious that at this point 3D Sex Villa 2 has a rather substantial amount of content to offer (and hopefully with even more to come in 2009), although as always, whether you find the basic concept interesting at all is of course entirely a matter of opinion. But then again, what isn't?
Additional note, December 28: A "What can you expect for 2009?" notice was just added to the 3D Sex Villa 2 website a few days after my update above. I imagine the full text will remain in the news section on the site tour for at least another few months, but in any case here's the last part of it:
"Here are just a few "highlights" we are currently working on:
New poses, new outfits, glory hole scenery, watersport addon, shemales, pregnant models, long hair models, superhero costumes, animal masks, wedding and nun costumes, ass fucking for men, double penetration, extra feet action, switch character while having sex, new voice over and different languages, ..."
So there should be a bit for (almost) everyone then I guess - including addressing two of the points I mentioned above myself, the lack of double penetration poses for threesomes and the still too limited number of voice sets.

Several content and feature updates have been added to 3D Sex Villa 2 since its original official release in September last year.
I haven't had a chance to take the software out for a spin myself since December, as the Vista laptop I bought around the same time as a replacement for my dead desktop PC, unfortunately proved a bit unstable in 3D games of any kind (still waiting for Vista Service Pack 1 for my country, or a new graphics driver that might hopefully fix the stability issues), but based on the info on the 3D Sex Villa 2 website, it does sound like particularly the latest update added some pretty nifty stuff.
Aside from new locations, models and clothing, the new features include additional voice sets for the female models (about time I might add, the lack of more than one of those was one of the things that got annoying after a while), squirting, cream pies, "atomic tits" (boob inflation gone mad), threesome poses, "the Cumcorder" (record scenes) and "the Sequencer" (direct scenes to a greater degree than with just the usual interactive features).
So overall it looks like this new version of 3D Sex Villa is growing at a pretty decent pace - but of course anything else would have surprised me.

3D Sex Villa 2 is now out of beta testing and has been officially released. As I expected it simply replaced the original 3D Sex Villa, so you still sign up at the same website (link on the right) where you also download the program. The tour page of the website itself has also gotten a makeover, including some sample in-game video footage playing at the top of the page, plus a few more preview clips.

Nope, I couldn't wait - I had just had to check out the beta test of 3D Sex Villa 2 I mentioned in my update three weeks ago, so I've been messing around quite a bit with the nearly finished version of the leading "virtual 3D sex" product.
I don't know when the final release will be (I'm guessing that they, like most software developers, would prefer to squash as many minor bugs as possible before release), but I haven't felt the need to install the original version as 3D Sex Villa 2 seems to be working perfectly fine.
The basic graphics engine hasn't changed - meaning it looks pretty decent, particularly in motion (screenshots really don't do this product justice, as it's the character animations and "realistic" behaviour that define 3D Sex Villa 2, and the original), though not exactly graphically stellar if you're used to say multi-million dollar game productions on your powerful gaming PC or XBox 360/Playstation 3. That would probably have been a bit too much to hope for though.
Where 3D Sex Villa 2 has changed from the original is in the improved interface and the move towards being more of a game than just a bunch of locations with everything available from the beginning, and so far I think that looks like a very good move.
You start out with a couple of basic locations/rooms, three characters (two girls and a guy) and some basic outfits and toys - in order to get access to many other rooms (15 of them, including the two free starter rooms), character packs (in total there are currently 10 girls and 6 guys), poses (sex, photo and "fetish"), toys, outfits, tattoos (new), jewelery (new) and customization packs (more on that in a second), you need SexCoins.
The way to aquire those SexCoins - as you might imagine - is through orgasms, and don't worry, getting your girls to climax (or the guys to shoot their load over them, now in a more visual way with the new interactive cumshot sequences where the girls assume a proper position to take the cum on eg. her face or ass) even multiple times isn't difficult at all, though quite a lot of fun, particularly if you're aiming for simultaneous orgasms.
If you plan to buy all currently 50+ SexPacks as the content packs are called, you will have to spend quite a bit of time though, but as I said I rather like that they've turned 3D Sex Villa 2 into more of a game, as you likely won't get bored with it as quickly.
Obviously you can also expect new SexPacks in the shop on a regular basis. The developers have always been fairly quick with their updates (keeping in mind we're talking software and not videos/photos) and with the new shop system it looks like it should much easier for them to do faster, smaller updates rather than the large "theme packs" they've been doing with version 1 every couple of months.
Another new major feature - and probably the most interesting of them - is the ability to customize nearly all aspects of the characters. While the 10 girls (you'll have to forgive me for not playing around with the guys, aside from maxing their cock size) all have very different looks, buying bodypart customization packs in the shop allows you to mold them into practically anything you can imagine (well, within "human" limits, if you're fantasizing about a futuristic female crime fighting cyborg with metal tits I'm afraid you're out of luck. Could have been fun though).
Six sliders for breasts alone (in addition to various nipple types) - size, shape, level, liftup, rotation, spacing. Three sliders for the pussy, tan line adjustments, hair styles and colors, eye colors, eyebrow shapes, freckles, strapon (or cock for the guys, but I kind of like putting two girls together in a scene) length and girth and so on.
Then you've also got separate options to change all kinds of makeup plus the tattoos and jewelery you may have bought with your SexCoins, and you can put together a starting outfit as well.
Basically just molding the 10 girls (if you purchase them all in the in-game shop) into the 3D babes of your dreams should keep you entertained for a while. I've only a few down so far.
Oh, and I almost forgot option - 60(!) sliders for faces (partially connected to keep the faces within the realm of realism, meaning you move one slider and a bunch of other ones will move a bit or a lot as well), not including the base combination sliders for ethnicity, age and realistic/caricature.
I feel like there's more to say, but since the general nature of 3D Sex Villa 2 hasn't really changed much from the original, I guess I can just point you to the original review below - or if you can't be bothered to read all that (can't say I blame you, this page has become a tad heavy with all those updates), just head over and check it out for yourself.
Be aware though, that as long as 3D Sex Villa 2 has still not been officially released, you need to have been a member for four days before you will get access to download the software from the member section of the website. Until then you'll have to settle with the original version, which certainly isn't half bad, I gave it a 90/100 score afterall, but many things have really improved in version 2 as you can see. I'll stick to the 90/100 score though, as per the explanation about the regular scoring categories near the top of the page.

(September 7 - been playing around quite a bit the last few days, trying to earn more SexCoins to unlock new characters, rooms, customization options, poses etc. Still got a long way to go before I've got everything unlocked (I've got less than a third of the SexPacks cleared), but as I mentioned, that's probably one of the good things about this new version, making for a more compelling game.

Since my last review update 3D Sex Villa has had three more large content updates (new locations, characters, outfits etc.), and when I checked the site to write this little update I noticed that they are now testing 3D SexVilla 2.
"Finally we are nearly finished with our complete new development of the 3D Sex Villa called 3D Sex Villa 2. It's not only an update, it's a whole new program with a huge amount of new features..."
Check the tour page to read about some of the specific features, it sounds like it's going to be quite a step up from the current version of the program.
Access to a beta test version is available for members, so if past experiences are anything to go by, my curiosity will probably have me signing up again before this weekend is over - unfortunately my one-year membership expired a short while ago (and as a sidenote, I can see that the one-year membership isn't an option anymore, though there are savings on the new two and three months options). In any case, once the final version of 3D Sex Villa 2 is released I will obviously take it out for a spin and write about it here.
For now the original 3D Sex Villa is better than ever after the last few updates.
Update, December 29 2006
3D Sex Villa was updated to version 29 a month or two ago (they skipped version 28, I'm guessing it was probably used as an internal test version or something, software version numbers tend to be a bit odd now and then), and just as I'm sitting down to write about the new features and additions, I notice they've apparantly been pretty quick with the updates this time as version 30 is already out as well.
A full list of everything new in the two updates can be found if you scroll down a bit on the tour page on the 3D Sex Villa website, so there's no point in me repeating everything point for point, but some of the highlights include four new characters, one female and three male (they were a bit short on the latter, which is probably why they added so many at once, otherwise I think most of us would agree that new girls would be significantly more interesting), a few new locations/rooms, new outfits, new poses (including one that takes place in a nifty new gyno chair) and new character customization options, including a much requested feature to change penis size on the male characters - perfect if you like to the see the girls getting a bit more... stretched.
The developers also continue to show their usual attention to detail, this time with things like "improved tit physics for even more realistic movement" and "nipples get hard".
Finally the latest update also makes 3D Sex Villa Windows Vista compatible, so if you plan on being among the early Vista users when it's released in a month or so (I probably do), no need to worry that you might not be able to run your favourite virtual sex sim.
Oh, I forgot to mention one new interesting (or somewhat scary, I'll let you decide) addition. Apparantly 3D Sex Villa can now be used in conjunction with sex toys (some of those "rubber pussies") that can apparently be bought in versions you can actually plug into your computer (the two listed on the site are Virtual Sex Stroker (webshop link) and "Interactive Fleshlight").
Now that's cybersex for you.

I've been thinking about doing this review for a while, but since 3D Sex Villa is also such a markedly different product from what I usually review here, I wasn't really too keen on adding a separate "Games" category - especially since it's quite likely I won't be reviewing another interactive sex game again any time soon, or at all.
Product like these are still very uncommon, or at least they are here in the West, sex games with varying degrees of user activity are quite common in Japan, usually (probably solely) featuring hentai characters. Many of these games are available for download in the excellent HentaiKey network. If you're interested in those, I recommend you read that particular review.
For now, let's move on to the product at hand, 3D Sex Villa.
First a minor technical introduction.
3D Sex Villa is a standalone application for Windows (sorry Mac users), much like regular computer games you buy in stores.
The installer program you download (which also serves as a very feature limited demo until you register) is very small in size, and additional needed data is downloaded automatically within the game the first time it's needed (the full final install will take up less than a hundred Megabyte).
When you launch the game you will be prompted for your login name and password, and you can additionally change some system related settings like screen resolution and refresh rate.
3D Sex Villa is additionally updated every few months, and while that doesn't sound like much when compared to weekly or daily content updates on porn sites, don't forget we aren't talking about videos and photos here, but designing and implementing new small and large features in a software package.
This review is based on version 27, and to name a few of the new things we got in this latest version, there's a new voice pack ("70+ new phrases and moans" - with matching facial and body animations), new gameplay features like involved reactions from the girls (they will tell you if they enjoy something, or if they don't), excitement meters (work her - or them - up to those orgasms), customizable hair and eye colors (there were already a bunch of other things to customize, including breast size and shape), new location (or room as they call it here), a new girl, new clothing set and a sybian dildo machine.
You can check out the details of the last three updates on the tour page, and the complete list back to version 1 can be found in the member section of the site (which you won't actually be using much of course, since the game is a standalone application).
And now you've already gotten a glimpse of what to expect, let's move on to the actual game - or virtual sex simulator, which might be a more appropriate term as you have full access to everything right off the bat, no bothersome and frustrating tests or mini-games to work through here before you get to the good stuff.
The first thing you do is choose two girls (you can then "go to work" on them one by one with the large assortment of toys or put them in all sorts of lesbian positions, plenty of strapon action included) or a girl and a guy for some good old fashioned fucking (and some initial toy play as well if you like).
If you're only interested in playing around with one girl, no problem, you can stick to just having your main character active and shown.
At the moment there are nine different female characters to choose from, covering several ethnicities and body types, and three male characters.
After selecting your characters you pick a room for the action to take place in, in version 27 there are nine rooms available, including a bedroom, living room, locker room (so far the only one with an optional little story line attached), a fetish club, a beach, an office and three others.
Once everything is loaded up it's time to get started on the fun. The camera can be rotated and moved freely around (and there's even a first person camera which can look pretty cool during two person action), and once you've gotten the hang of that it's time to pull out the toys. And there are quite a lot of those. Breast, thighs, stomach and other body parts can be carressed with a disembodied hand, bottoms can be spanked with whips (goes well with the fetish room and some of the more kinky outfits), and mouths, pussies and assholes can be fucked with dildos, buttplugs and vibrators of all types.
And all along the virtual babe will react quite naturally with well animated body language - including facial features like mouth and eyes - and in this latest version with plenty of verbal response as well.
Once you feel it's time to move on from the solo play, you activate the second character (girl or guy) by choosing one of the many poses from the simple menu system. There are more than 20 of them, ranging from several sitting and standing positions, to doggy style, missionary, blowjobs and tit fucking.
If you've got two girls in the scene, one of them will be sporting a strapon and basically use the same positions like you get with a girl/guy pairing. There are a couple of lesbian specific positions as well though.
Toys as well as one-on-one action can either be handled manually by pulling the mouse in the appropriate direction, or alternatively you can use the auto feature with several different speeds. A click on a button will additionally switch between vaginal and anal sex in many positions.
All along the characters will become increasingly excited and you'll be able to tell this easily from their body language and moans and comments, as well as from the newly implemented pleasure bars that slowly work up to climax. The girls (I tend to go for the girl/girl option - I prefer two virtual hotties in one scene) will eventually express their orgasms quite vividly, and slowly dwindle down to a relaxed state, ready to start over again.
This system - changing body language and verbal responses - has become a lot more lifelike and detailed in this latest version of 3D Sex Villa.
Aside from all the toys and sex positions to play around with, there's no shortage of sexy outfits as well. From full outfits like a business suit or a Frech maid's uniform, even a full army uniform, over latex gear, sexy lingerie, long boots and gloves to a variety of stockings, masks and even a ball gag.
A few other features are worthy of mention as well - like the virtual cock you can whip out at any time and, with the help of a neat little targeting reticule, cover the ladies in sperm. And if they get too messy there's a sponge for cleaning them up as well. I'm not kidding.
Deep Pink is a closeup pussy cam that some might find interesting, and in this view the ladies are additionally gifted with the ability to squirt.
Some of the more interesting toys (or tools as they are referred to) include a fucking machine (taking a cue from one of my favourite toy sites I imagine - Fucking Machines) and now the sybian as well.

To go with the photo studio - or any other scene - 3D Sex Villa features a one-click snapshot system that automatically saves your pictures to a photoalbum, complete with optional artistic black and white and color desaturate effect filters.
So as you've probably gathered by now I'm quite enthusiastic about 3D Sex Villa, but while I've had quite a lot of fun with it and definately think it's worth checking out (I would like to say "try the demo", and you probably should, but it's extremely limited and doesn't really give a particularly good look at the variety that's one of the strong points here), I'll also admit that as a tech head and aspiring 3D hobby artist (the latter has been a bit of a pipe dream so far, but with all the money I've invested in 3D software recently, I better get my ass in gear) I think I'm probably more attracted to the basic idea and future potential of virtual, simulated sex (in one form or the other) than the actual package at hand here.
3D Sex Villa is impressive though, no argument there, and while you'll probably still have to wait 5-10 years for lifelike photorealistic "people" and enviroments in a virtual sex simulator (hell, even the latest and greatest computer games developed on multi-million dollar budgets and pushing the latest hardware to its limits isn't quite there yet) this still looks pretty neat, although realistically speaking the target audience is probably most likely to be those of us who like hentai, erotic comics etc.
While the characters may still have quite a while to go before they look like real people, I'm particularly impressed by what they've managed to do with animation on body language and in general making the girls react and move quite naturally, if perhaps a bit limited in range and variation.
There are, as far as I know, no other products of this kind as advanced as 3D Sex Villa, although Hentai 3D (outgoing link) and Virtually Jenna are based on the same engine.
Virtually Jenna contains the exact same content as 3D Sex Villa (but is an update or two behind as far as I know, they are just licensing the basic engine), adds a few characters (most notably a virtual version of Jenna Jameson) and unfortunately lacks the price option I personally thought was the best overall deal for 3D Sex Villa (and chose myself a few months back) - $58.95 for a full year, followed by $12.95 every three months.
Hentai 3D is from the people behind 3D Sex Villa, and aside from using characters with a fairly distinct hentai look, some of the rooms are different as well. There's a tentacle room for instance, which shouldn't come as much of a surprise to hentai fans.
Overall this game seems to offer less content than 3D Sex Villa though - and appears to be an update behind as well. I'm basing this on the demo and the website though, I haven't tried out the full version of Hentai 3D.
So a one of kind site - or at least a one of a kind game engine - and very likely a one of a kind review here at Mike's Porn Site Reviews as well. I've had a lot of fun with 3D Sex Villa, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing what the near future has in store for us, both additional updates and improvements to this package, as well as virtual, interactive sex in general.
