Update, October 19 2008
I have just updated the Club Sandy and Pix & Video reviews, as both those sites have now also made the switch to 720p HD videos (retroactively back to August).
There are a few sites in the network I haven't had the opportunity to check recently with my current memberships (I'll be able to do that in a month or two), but since DP Fanatics and Lez Cuties also have redesigned tour pages, I strongly suspect they've been upgraded to HD as well. I confirmed a few others in my update below. In total around seven 21Sextury sites now have HD videos.
The latest updates brought with it a few network changes as well - and whether or not they add to or detract from the confusion I described in detail in the review intro below, I'll leave up to you to decide.
Basically you'll now get approx. 30 bonus sites no matter which 21Sextury site you join - plus the additional two sites for every month you remain a member.
Combo memberships appear to be out entirely, but they were admittedly starting to make less sense as you would have gotten access to the second site sooner or later anyway, and often after just the first or second month as a member. And though the Club Sandy and Pix & Video combo was a very nice one indeed, you do now eventually get access to the other when you join one - and the increased number of bonus sites, some of which are built from content from CS and P&V, means that you'll get a virtual ton of content no matter where you start.
Update, September 5 2008
It looks like 21Sextury is now gearing up for a conversion of many of their sites to HD video. The tour pages of several sites have been updated to a new wider format (similar to that of their latest HD sites Mighty Mistress and Dominated Girls - direct site links) and with HD logos.
Nothing has changed in the member areas yet though (so they are doing a bit of false advertising by getting those fancy new tours up so soon), but in the news section of the site they apparantly plan to convert first, they mention that not only new videos will be available in HD, but the older ones will be converted as well (though I imagine they can't be talking about all of them since some of them must surely have been recorded well before they started shooting in HD).
I'll obviously update this review again once several of the sites have been converted, but I do have a feeling this could be a process that's going to take months rather than weeks.
Additional note, September 10: It looks like the first HD videos are up on a few sites. I'm just downloading videos from Teach Me Fisting as I'm writing this, and I was surprised to see that they apparantly moved to 720p HD already back in May (I don't recall seing that advertised on any of their sites, and in fact the member section still modestly mentions "high resolution DVD-like quality videoclips", only the tour pages have been redesigned so far).
The latest video at Footsie Babes (direct site link) is also in HD, and it looks like Asshole Fever and DP Fanatics are among the sites that will follow suit with their next updates.
... I'll be damned. Looks like the conversion is happening right as I'm writing this. A video I downloaded from Asshole Fever just half an hour ago has now been replaced with a HD version, and so it appears, have all or most of the others added since May this year, just like at Teach Me Fisting. Looks like this major video quality improvement might happen a lot faster than I had expected afterall.
It will be interesting to see how long it will be until the two major 21Sextury sites Club Sandy and Pix & Video go HD. I don't have access at the moment unfortunately (went the route of Asshole Fever with my current membership), but I rather suspect I'll check back in very soon.
Introduction:
(Minor corrections made September 5 2008)
Despite it's unusual and somewhat confusing structure, and lack of initial access to the full network, I've decided to finally list the 21Sextury sites as a site network in this section.
You could argue that it might not be entirely justified, and that's a point well taken, but they have taken steps over the last year or so to make this arrangement closer to a proper network - and in fact if you don't join through Club Sandy and/or Pix & Video, this is now a proper network with initial access to more than 30 sites (but the CS/P&V option might still be the better choice, so read on).
Let's start with a an explanation of the 21Sextury unusual network structure before the usual list of pros and cons.
If you join Club Sandy or Pix & Video (or both with one of the discounted combo memberships), you also get access to an initial ten bonus sites - arguably some of the least impressive sites in the network (and at the time of writing I haven't reviewed any of those). Every month you remain a member you then get access to another two sites, though the order in which they will be added to your membership seems to be somewhat randomly decided at the time you sign up (though immediately visible after that with a countdown for each of them).
If you instead choose to join the network through another site, you will get access to the ten bonus sites mentioned above (as well as a few more) plus a pretty sizeable number of smaller niche sites that offer some recycled content from Club Sandy and Pix & Video. With this option you will never get access to CS and P&V though, but there are still additional sites in the network and as above you will get two every 30 days.
In my first draft of this text I said that I felt a Club Sandy or Pix & Video membership was pretty much always the best entrance to this network, but I'm no longer certain the decision is quite as clear cut - at least not if you only join one of the two sites instead of going for the combo membership.
Overall a confusing system - to say the very least - but one that's nevertheless still guaranteed to offer great value for money and a ton of content no matter if you use CS and/or P&V as an entrance point, or one of the other sites I've reviewed and listed below.
Pros & Highlights
+ Club Sandy and Pix & Video remain my two favourite Eurobabe sites. And they are both huge, CS now with 850+ videos and photosets and P&V with a staggering twice that. And neither site has missed a daily update since they launched in December 2003.
+ Asshole Fever is one of the best dedicated anal sites out there, and DP Fanatics is pretty damn good as well.
+ A number of other large niche sites with exclusive content are also featured in the network. As well as the gorgeous Sophie Moone's still very active and now rather large solo model site (with plenty of guests in girl/girl action, including Eve Angel, Jo, Nella, Sandy and numerous others).
+ Two new entirely differently styled BDSM sites (one lesbian, one guy/girl, still Eastern European babes) with full 720p, 4000 kbit HD video were recently added to the network.
You'll likely have to stick around for quite a few months to get access to those though, unless you join through one of them directly. No reviews planned for now, but here are direct site links - Mighty Mistress and Dominated Girls.
+ There have been recent talks of moving (some of) the other sites to HD video as well, but I'll refrain from speculating on when or even if that's gonna happen.
Many of the recent videos at Club Sandy, Pix & Video and several other sites are in widescreen format now though, so I guess that suggests that they may at least be shooting most new stuff in HD already.
Cons
- A significant number of sites in the network are decidedly less impressive than the "main" sites. Many of these appear to be built from licensed, non-exclusive content (you still get proper photosets with most videos though), and don't feature the usual 21Sextury Eurobabe lineup.
Still, I'm sure some (perhaps even myself now and then) would argue that a bit of variety doesn't hurt at all, and some of this content is actually quite good.
- As mentioned in the individual 21Sextury site networks listed below, the video quality is one of the few things still holding these sites back a bit. But with the slight quality boost last year I can nevertheless still watch these videos in full screen mode on my 22" widescreen monitor without thinking they look totally horrible. They obviously just aren't razor sharp, or anywhere close, either.
- I took a point off the Value for Money score, considering this is a network review and there's that limited initial number of sites. In truth though, and as also mentioned in the intro above, particularly if you join through Club Sandy or Pix & Video you really do get exceptional value for your money right off the bat.
- Well, the biggest negative point here is obviously, as I've repeated numerous times now, that you don't get full network access right away. However, just Pix & Video alone has as much or more content than some entire networks.
