The All Network Pass network has grown quite significantly since my review back in 2006, at least in terms of the total number of sites which is up from an original 36 to no less than 71.
Unfortunately most of the new sites are solo girl sites - tiny, extremely tiny solo girl sites, most of them (there are a few exceptions) with barely a handful of videos and photosets. In fact I really feel they make up for a so entirely uninteresting part of this site network that I won't even bother commenting on them further.
In fact I find myself a bit confused looking at the member section and some of the individual sites I originally reviewed, because not only is the site interface(s) more of a mess than I recall from last time (and with too many not particularly discrete ads and upsells for my liking), but it's also a bit difficult for me to tell how frequent the updates are at this time and how much content has been added to the various older sites in the network. Well, actually the news section does list the updates and the pace here still seems to be worth a 10/10 score with around a handful of videos every 2-14 days (yep, hardly a steady schedule) - though I did run into something of an oddity.
Counting the current number of videos on a couple of the individual sites I reviewed back in 2006, it looks disturbingly like they've actually removed content from them! Either that or my counting and multiplication skills on that October day in 06 (or today) weren't even up for such a rather simple task.
I won't deny there's still a lot of entertaining content spread out across this network - and as I'm sure I mentioned in my original review, they do have the somewhat uncommon handjob niche in particular covered quite well, but otherwise I gotta admit that this revisit has been somewhat of a letdown compared to my similar revisits this month to three of the four highest ranked networks here at Mike's Porn Site Reviews.
I sort of feel like I ought to fiddle around with the scores a bit - in downwards direction - but frankly I'm not entirely sure which ones to give a whack. Quantity is still pretty good if you take the entire network into account (and that's what I'm doing in this main review afterall). Quality already got an appropriately moderate score despite some 640x480 videos. Entertainment value is quite good, at least in certain niches, and value for money - well, it's a large network, you pretty much always get your $25-30 worth with those, and then some.
You know what? I think I've got it - one point off navigation/design, and one point off reviewer's tilt.
This is still a decent network, but unless you got a thing for handjobs, I would definately recommend looking higher up the review list first.
Update, November 9 2006
While I was taking a bit longer than planned getting some of the individual sites in the network reviewed (listed below), another seven sites were added to All Network Pass, bringing the total number up to 36 rather than the 29 they had a couple of weeks ago.
The new linup of sites include something new to the network, five solo girl sites (the two other new sites are teen clothing fetish sites, panties, bras etc.) - at least one of them with a girl I recognize, Brandy Talore, an up and coming hardcore pornstar with huge natural tits. The other four girls are all pretty cute teen babes.
All these solo girl sites are still relatively small though, and so far they only feature softcore solo videos and photosets. They make for an interesting addition though, and clearly shows that this network is growing pretty fast at the moment. The last month we've also been getting at least four new videos across the network every day.
Additionally the video quality on the new sites is significantly higher than on most of the older ones - 640x480, 1500 kbit.
Pros
+ Additional sites have been added to the network so the package now includes 36 sites rather than the 26 listed on the tour page (or 15 as mentioned in the header at the very top of the page)
+ Many of the sites are pretty large with around 40-120+ video episodes
+ Lots of variety, with the latest site addition you've even got animated hentai porn, but also with special attention paid to a few particular niches, mainly handjobs (and the more or less related titjobs and footjobs) and blowjobs. It's particularly nice to see the former respresented, as it seems to be a pretty uncommon porn niche and is entirely missing from most site networks.
+ Downloadable videos (with one site as the exception). Doesn't sound like a big deal, but lately I've run into several networks offering only streaming videos, and it seems like it's pretty common practice for many large site networks
+ Video quality is very inconsistent across the sites, but in general the highest option is fairly decent on most of them, very good on a few. The low resolution on many of the sites, is more or less made up for by a high bitrate (although not in all cases)
+ 5-7 weekly content updates, 2-6+ videos per update. Some of the individual sites are neglected a bit though (or rather a lot), as the people behind the network, understandably, seem more interested in adding content to the latest smaller sites in the network rather than the ones that have been there since the beginning.
That's also the main reason for the distinctly average total scores for most of the individual sites listed below. Most of them are actually quite good, and quite large, but with few or no updates for a long time, they take quite a hit on the updates score
+ Bonus content includes around 30 3rd party video feeds and, quite impressive, a full categorized DVD archive with 735 scenes (streaming videos only, but good quality if your connection is up to the task of the highest video option, so good in fact that I would have boosted the total quality score for the network by a point or two if the videos had been downloadable).
I only went through parts of the archive, but I imagine some of the scenes here are used (in a downloadable format) on those of the 29 included sites built partially or fully from DVD content (see the cons below)
+ As the case has been with a few of the other networks I've reviewed, you may find yourself looking at the mediocre scores I've handed out to the individual sites I've reviewed below, and wonder how I ended up with such a high score for the full network.
The answer is sheer volume, variety and entertainment value. All the sites in this network have their flaws (eg. as mentioned in the point about updates above), occasionally some pretty severe ones, but view the package as a whole, and this is definately one of the better networks I've tried out so far
Cons
- Some of the sites only offer video downloads in a single file (and only one quality option), meaning members on slow connections could be looking helplessly at a 200-300+ Mb download (I ran into one 25 minutes video that was no less than 590 Mb in size). As this is a very video heavy network in the first place, I can't really recommended it anyway unless you're on at least a moderately fast broadband connection
- A few sites have the opposite problem, they only offer partial videos
- Very little photo content in the network, only a couple of handfuls of sets on a few sites. Personally I don't miss it much though, as the focus is on hardcore video entertainment here
- Some, even many of the sites appear to be built either fully or partially from DVD content. Nothing particularly wrong with that as such (unless you've already seen most of it at VideoBox or VideosZ, I didn't check on a scene per scene basis, but I'm pretty sure I recognized at least some of them), but a tad uninspired
- As mentioned under pros the quality is usually quite decent, but there are still cases where it's lacking a bit too much. The huge variations in resolutions and bitrate between the sites (and even sometimes on just a single site) actually seem pretty odd, like someone rolled the dice to decide quality every time it was time to encode a new batch of videos.
And it doesn't look like you can necessarily count on the most recent videos being of higher quality than older ones, something that's otherwise a fairly natural progression on most other porn sites
- A few of the sites are very small, although I'm not entirely sure if it's because they aren't updated or because they were only recently added to the network
