Pros
+ I must admit that it's been quite a few years since I've had any experience with the porn magazine market (or old fashioned real porn DVDs for that matter), using the Internet is just so much easier.
That knowledge is probably not entirely lost on the porn mag companies either, because Swank Pass is the online version of Swank Magazine as well as several other magazines from the same company (although I'm not entirely sure if all seven sites in this network are based on real magazines or some are "web only").
With a mix of hardcore porn videos and photosets (everything from lesbian over regular straight sex to anal and gangbangs) and solo photosets (and the occasional video), the seven large sites provide many hours of excellent entertainment. You get a ton of well known pornstars (and some less well known but still very hot babes on some of the sites) and if you're a boob lover you'll be pleased to know that two of the sites cater specifically to this interest, just as there's one for the "leg men" among you
+ All seven sites are quite large (actually, calling them very large is probably justified), each with around 160-190 videos and anywhere from around 400 to no less than 1100+ photosets (they vary a lot in size though, from just 10-15 images all the way to 350+)
+ First rate content, it's obvious this is done by professional people with many years of experience, and enough money to hire the hottest girls
+ Consistent site interface across all seven sites, attractive and easy to navigate. Check the cons below for a few negative remarks though
+ Mostly decent if not particularly impressive video quality. With a few exceptions it also appears more or less consistent at 480x360, 800 kbit. All videos can be downloaded in either a single file or typically 4-15 smaller segments
+ Each of the seven sites appears to be getting one new photoset a week and a new video every 4-7 days, meaning you can expect new content added to the network every day
Cons
- Given how much great looking photo content you will find on the seven Swank Pass sites, it's quite disappointing to see how much they have skimped on the technical quality when preparing the images for web rather than magazine use.
A just barely acceptable 515x768 pixels seems to be the common resolution on the most recent content (fortunately it looks pretty sharp though and not overcompressed), and many other sets are only available in a very disappointing 406x515 resolution, usually with somewhat lower image quality as well.
A significant part of the photo content is admittedly shot between the late 90s and 2002/3 (some of it is date stamped), but even so, and knowing next to nothing about photography technicalities, I have a hard time believing even photos shot ten years ago couldn't be blown up to a much larger resolution than 515 pixels.
Of course we're still not quite talking stamp sized photos here, even on a high resolution monitor, so you can certainly still enjoy the vast amounts of photo content here, it's just not represented nearly as well as it ought to be in my opinion
- A model index, at least on a per site basis, would have been a welcome addition. Additionally I wouldn't have minded a bit more than just a single screen capture for each video, it's not always entirely easy to tell if you're about to download something great or something less so. Fortunately the option of downloading segments means that you can often get a quick preview by downloading just 4-15 Mb (some segments are a bit larger though)
- I'm pretty sure not all the video content is exclusive. When even a guy like me who has seen the insides of well over 150 paysites still only recognize a relatively limited number of the videos, it's hardly a real problem though. It fortunately doesn't appear like they've done what some sites do and just licensed DVD content from the same popular studios and DVD series that we've seen too many times before
